Chicago Bear quarterback Jay Cutler and his foundation came out publicly this week in support of Gilman Healthcare Center’s new Diabetes Management Program. In a Facebook post from Jay’s official Facebook page, the Bears QB said, “Wanted to take a minute to recognize what the Gilman Healthcare Center in Gilman, IL is offering to its seniors with diabetic related issues. Check out the details on their new program…” He then posted a link to an article that had information about the Gilman Healthcare Center’s new program. Jay finished his Facebook post with one line, “Great job @gilmanhealthcarecenter.”
Within a half hour, the Jays Facebook post had received tons of likes and comments of encouragement for both the program and Jay’s support of it. “We were thrilled to see that Jay Cutler has given the Gilman Healthcare Center some recognition,” said Mark Emanuele, Director of Marketing for the center. Mark went on to say, “I know that Jay has lived and played with diabetes for several years, but the fact that he would publicly support our Diabetes Management Program came as a pleasant surprise. The service that we are now offering our residents with diabetes really will be a tremendous benefit to them. I think that Jay and his foundation saw that and wanted to point it out to everyone else.”
